Debt Funding PreparationLoan Providers

Sunshine pairs entrepreneurs with a business coach to prepare financials, identify suitable lenders/investors, and apply through its own online loan-matching platform, The Capital Exchange, connecting to a network of financing partners.

When you take advantage of the Access to Capital program you’ll be paired with a Sunshine business coach to work one-on-one, identifying the source of funding that best suits your interest and developing a plan to secure that need.

Community Micro Equity Fund

Equity Funding PreparationMatching Fund Providers

A $25k equity investment fund for Black, low-to-moderate income and other diverse entrepreneurs, funded by The PNC Foundation and run jointly by Greenwood Archer Capital and Sunshine Enterprises, including business education, working capital, credit repair coaching and mentoring.

the Community Micro Equity Fund is a collaboration between Greenwood Archer Capital and Sunshine Enterprises that aims to fill this gap by providing equity to leverage debt or to offer equity when debt is not a viable option.

Help Desk

Sunshine's own funded referral service that connects CBA alumni to vetted professional service providers, covering up to $500 in project costs via an equity grant.

Office Hours

One-on-One Counseling

Pro bono one-on-one consultations with Sunshine's Professional Service Providers on marketing, accounting, HR and other business needs for current CBA students and alumni.

Office Hours is a specialized program designed exclusively for current students of the Community Business Academy (CBA) and Sunshine Enterprises alumni.

Peer Mentoring

Sunshine-run alumni community platform on Facebook for peer connection, promoting alumni businesses, and sharing opportunities, events and resources.

A dedicated space for the Sunshine Alumni Community to connect, share experiences, and support one another on their entrepreneurial journeys.

Grand Opening & Special Event Support

Assistance for CBA alumni and BAS members planning grand openings or special events, coordinated through a request form with 45-60 days advance notice.

Neighborhood Business Development Center (NBDC)

Small Business/General

As the City of Chicago's NBDC for its service area, Sunshine assists business owners with starting/strengthening/growing a business, connecting to capital, finding commercial space, networking, marketing, B2B referrals, and COVID-related business support.

Sunshine Enterprises is a proud partner of the City of Chicago, operating as a Neighborhood Business Development Center (NBDC) with support from the Department of Business Affairs + Consumer Protections.

Returning Citizens Entrepreneurship Training (#ReCET)

Re-Entry Support

A track for returning citizens, presented in partnership with Illinois Economic Empowerment Centers, that places RCET clients into Sunshine's regular CBA course offerings.

RCET clients will attend a regularly scheduled CBA course that best suits their expertise and/or schedule.
